Numbers are the numbers

The recent flurry of departures of Notre Dame players to the transfer portal have trimmed down the scholarship chart for 2024 quite a bit. It also has reshaped the roster needs for Notre Dame to grab out of the portal, and as they finish up the 2024 recruiting cycle.

The scholarship chart below represents all those players that are able to come back and are currently on the roster. Marist Liufau is the only player that is off of the chart without an official farewell post, but he did announce a spot in the Senior Bowl — so that basically takes care of that.

Obviously, Duke QB Riley Leonard is someone to keep a close eye on this week and could announce his decision in short order. Notre Dame will also be in the hunt for more defensive backs and wide receivers. One of the more intriguing players that Notre Dame has been after is WR Kris Mitchell from Florida International. Mitchell had 64 receptions and over 1100 yards receiving in 2023 to go along with 7 touchdowns — much needed production for the Irish.

Without question this chart will change dramatically over the next two months.
