Sun Bowl Game Thread: #15 Notre Dame VS #21 Oregon State

The 9-3 and #15 ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish are in El Paso, Texas, to take on the 8-4 and #21 ranked Oregon State Beavers in one of the oldest bowl games in existence — the Sun Bowl.

The Irish are trying to finish the season strong and with that 10th win under their belt. While the offense had a large number of transfers and opt-outs for this game, the defensive side of the ball only saw a few and should carry the game against an Oregon State team that is decimated top to bottom — including its coaching staff.

I know that the common theme spread around by college football fans is that these are “meaningless” games — but try telling that to the players and staff that are suiting up for battle. Maybe some teams show up and just go through the motions because they “don’t want to be there,” or whatever. I just don’t think THIS team has that mindset, and I fully expect the Irish to knock the crap out of Oregon State (respectively).

Prediction: Notre Dame 31, Oregon State 3

When: Friday, December 29 @ 2:00 PM EST
Where: Sun Bowl, El Paso, Texas
How to watch: CBS with all of the CBS intro music that we love

According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the Irish are currently 6 point favorites over Oregon State with an over/under of 41.5.

The game thread is open below. I know many of us are on Twitter (or if you’re a weirdo and really want to call it X) for most of the game, but I encourage you to vent and do other things that require more than 280 characters here.
