The Notre Dame Fighting Irish and wide receivers coach Chansi Stuckey have parted ways. According to John Brice, who was the first to report the event for Football Scoop, Notre Dame is now in the hunt for a new coach for one of the more underwhelming position groups from the past decade.

Despite landing the top QB in the transfer portal in Sam Hartman, Notre Dame’s passing game ranked 51st in the country in yards per game, and overall looked very anemic at just the WR position itself.

Notre Dame’s top two receivers at the WR position were Chris Tyree and freshman Rico Flores. Tyree has already announced his entry into the transfer portal. If Mitchell Evans would not have been injured during the middle of the season, we would have likely seen a tight end lead the Irish in receiving once again. This was not what the expectations were this year, and to be competitive next season, it has to get drastically better.
