Notre Dame Football: Hot and Cold Takes for the Toledo Rockets

Special Teams Takes.....Go on....

notre dame football hot takes Brendan McAlinden

How’d We Do Last Week?

As mentioned last week, I will feature the Most Interesting, Most Wildly Inaccurate, and Most Accurate Takes for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish from the previous week. Here we go!

Interesting

While Kyle Hamilton didn’t throw any spears......he pretty much did (metaphorically). I usually hate stupid penalties but I HAVE to say I loved when he took off his helmet after that insane pick......The world deserved to see his scowl after that one.

#coldblooded

Wildly Inaccurate

Honestly........too many of us...but GoldRush’s confidence (which I shared), needed to be highlighted. This game wasn’t easy.....The wild thing is that this take was almost a perfect take if the Irish don’t blow the 4th quarter.

Accurate

.....I mean come on now. The CBs playing solid is the only thing wrong here...Coan going big and Rushing going low......At this point I am questioning if Irish4life can see into the future. Well done.

Now let’s get to the takes for the upcoming action featuring the Notre Dame Fighting Irish against the Toledo Rockets.

Cold Take

2 more picks.

This time we get one by a linebacker and one by a safety not named Kyle Hamilton. If Notre Dame blows Toledo out, look for freshman Justin Walters to get in on the action. He was all over the field during camp and that is no accident.

SPECIAL TEAMS TOUCHDOWN

Anytime a MAC team comes to town, I like to think about the talent gap on the second and third teams. Notre Dame’s special teams units are made up of mostly 3-4 star guys who just aren’t ready for full time duty yet. The MAC schools are relying on low star guys and or players who would be more preferred walk on-types of Notre Dame. Notre Dame has widened that gap in recent years and I expect it to show on this side of the ball. Either Chris Tyree or Kyren Williams will house one....my money is on Kyren Williams taking a punt back when Toledo is punting out of their own end zone.

Your Takes: Please leave your takes below (hot, cold medium-any temp). I will feature the Top Takes next week. GO IRISH!

PS Bonus horn-tooting. HC with a HUGE win against UCONN.....John Smith did record an interception in this one. NICE! I’ll pepper in some bonus HC takes throughout the year as well.
