Quick Hitter
Notre Dame Fighting Irish moved up one spot from #9 to #8 after a 41-38 overtime win against the Florida State Seminoles on Sunday Night. They moved ahead of (personally) very overrated Iowa State, who gutted out a big win over Northern Iowa 16-10. This was an incredible week 1 with a lot of marquee matchups and featured tons of movement in the top 25.

Notre Dame Opponent Quick Hits
- Cincinnati Bearcats: #8 to #7. Cincy took care of business against Murray State. Not much coming out of there as they did exactly what they should have.
- Wisconsin Badgers: #12 to #18. Woof. Let’s just say I am glad we got Jack Coan. It is still very early, but Wisconsin looked very stagnant against Penn State. They have a tune up against Eastern Michigan before heading to Soldier Field against the Irish.
- USC Trojans: #15 to #14. The Trojans looked very solid against a formidable offensive team in San Jose State. This will be a fun game against the Irish folks.
- Virginia Tech Hokies: Unranked to #19. Wooooof UNC (more on that later). Blacksburg was rocking and completely shut down the supposedly explosive offense of the Tar Heels. The matchup against the Irish just got a lot more interesting...
- North Carolina Tar Heels: #10 to #24. Barf UNC, BARF. UNC absolutely dropped the ball here. The explosive offense was completely pedestrian. They need to figure things out quick as that was a dumpster fire for a popular pre-season Playoff pick.
Holy Cross BABY
The College of the Holy Cross Crusaders cracked the top 25 (#24) in the FCS poll this week after a thrilling 10 point victory over the STOUT Connecticut Huskies (lol).
