The Notre Dame Fighting Irish hockey team is set to return to the ice for the 2021-22 season, and we now know when that will happen after the release of their schedule on Friday.

Notre Dame will host the USNTDP at Compton Family Ice Arena for an exhibition game on October 3. They begin their regular season against the LIU Sharks, in just the program’s second season, at home on October 9. The Irish then travel for the first time for back-to-back road games against the Michigan Tech Huskies and the Northern Michigan Wildcats on Oct. 15 and 16.
The Irish open Big Ten conference play on the road this season with a two game series at the Minnesota Gophers Oct. 29-30. In their first home conference series Notre Dame welcomes the Wisconsin Badgers to South Bend Nov. 12-13. Notre Dame finishes their regular season at home against the Michigan Wolverines Feb. 25-26. All told, Notre Dame will play 10 non-conference games during the regular season as well as 24 conference games.
The Big Ten conference tournament begins on March4 with the first round running through March 6. The semifinals will take place on March 12 and the championship will be held on March 19. All Big Ten tournament games will be held on campus based on tournament seeding. The NCAA Regionals will be held March 25-27 and the Frozen Four will take place in Boston, MA April 7-9.
