Five old Notre Dame Football photos for a Friday — All the flags

They flap in the wind

Happy Friday everyone! I have access to thousands and thousands of Notre Dame Fighting Irish photos, and will never use a small fraction of those on this site. The thing is though — I want to, and I’m going to give it a solid shot as a way to bless the beginning of the weekend throughout the offseason.

I was going to do a captain themed post today in honor of the new seven Notre Dame Football captains — but the pickings were slim with that search word. I’m lazy and didn’t want to get too intricate with my search, so let’s do flags. Who can argue with that?

A lot

I believe this was from the 2001 game against the Michigan State Spartans. That’s a lot of flags which just proves that you can be very patriotic without playing Navy.

Young Fave ain’t a rapper

While technically not really “old” I’m including this flag pic because I love it. One of my low-key favorite parts about Notre Dame Stadium are the opponent pennants that fly up there. It has that old school feel, so this young fave totally counts.

Cozy

Notre Dame, at times, appears to to look a little snobbish when it comes to opponents and the stadiums they travel to during the season. Neutral site games are often suggested against teams with smaller stadiums — but I like a game or two inside a cozy confine.

The lot

One of my favorite things about going to Notre Dame football games is the parking lot and all of the tailgaters. I normally park in Innovation Park, and there’s a spot when you are walking up to the stadium where the lot gets in full view — and all of these tailgates with all of these flags blast the goosebumps up and down the spine.

Fightin’

My favorite Notre Dame flag ever. That’s all I have to say about it.
