We are are expecting some really good news in a week, regarding the Notre Dame Fighting Irish wide receiver recruiting effort. 4-Star C.J. Williams is set to make his commitment on Sunday, August 8, and he is currently a unanimous 247 Crystal Ball pick to go to Notre Dame.

Tobias Merriweather is another west coast 4-Star wide receiver that might end up in South Bend as well. As of right now, Notre Dame is the overwhelming favorite to land Merriweather when the Camas, Washington, prospect makes his decision public — which could be very soon.

Of course, just because they are making a commitment video, it doesn’t necessarily mean that it is made for a particular school at the moment — but things are really adding up to more good news for the Irish. Hopefully a commitment day is coming soon.

Notre Dame is in real need of wide receivers in this class. While Del Alexander has a preference for no more than three WRs in each class, it’s becoming more and more likely that Notre Dame will take four. With Amorion Walker already in the fold, and C.J. Williams projected to pick ND soon, the possible addition of Merriweather is an exciting thought.

Some of Merriweather’s other top schools listed are the Oregon Ducks, Stanford Cardinal, and the USC Trojans.

If you’re looking for the possible fourth to the group, Andre Greene has been a strong possibility for a while now.
