Brown was a running back for the Illinois Fighting Illini from 2015-2019 and then quickly found himself landing a job as the Recruiting Coordinator for the Tennessee Volunteers in February of 2021.
Notre Dame has underwent an overhaul with its recruiting program this past offseason. Mike Elston replaced Brian Polian as the recruiting coordinator, and with the hire of Marcus Freeman as the defensive coordinator (and a stud recruiter himself) the Irish also grabbed Chad Bowden from the Cincinnati Bearcats to be their Defensive Director of Recruiting.
We have seen massive strides in recruiting on the defensive side of the ball over the last 6 months, so this additional position was an inevitable move for Notre Dame as they try to keep pace with the rest of the elites on the recruiting trail.
Brown is too young and too inexperienced for me to have a strong opinion about, but I do like what Brian Kelly is trying to do with his staff. Brown’s youth is certainly a good thing in many ways as he will be able to connect with players quite naturally, and will have that youthful energy that helps create a strong recruiting atmosphere.
