Notre Dame Football: The battle for Kyle Hamilton to play some wide receiver has begun

IT’S ON!

The debate about moving Notre Dame Fighting Irish safety Kyle Hamilton to wide receiver has been ongoing for years now. No — this isn’t a fulltime move, but something Notre Dame can do to tap into every ounce that Kyle Hamilton has as an athlete. Like... why not Kyle Hamilton inside the redzone?

Our good friend Greg Flammang over at UHND.com (@greg2126 on Twitter) has long been the biggest fan of Kyle Hamilton, and has been Hamilton’s loudest supporter for a move to use Kyle in every way that a Kyle should be used.

The void that we thought we were shouting into suddenly exploded with noise on Wednesday when Irish offensive coordinator Tommy Rees finally chimed in on the discussion after Kyle made his feelings public.

So... now it’s on to everyone’s new super hero, Irish defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman. It didn’t take long for Marcus to give his thoughts on the subject:

That’s cold Marcus... so damn cold.

While this is certainly fun and all (and like... really fun for us and Greg) Notre Dame really might need a little help at wide receiver this year. Maybe Tommy will smoke Stone Cold Freeman with a pylon or two in fall camp, and we get a look at Kyle catching touchdowns.

Anything is possible in this world... especially of we can get Brian Kelly to chime in (which at the moment he has not). LET’S GO GET KYLE A HEISMAN!
