2021 NCAA Baseball Tournament Super Regional: Notre Dame VS Mississippi St. Game Thread

Super Regional time — LFG!

It’s finally time to begin Notre Dame’s first Super Regional game since 2002. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have travelled to Starkville to take on the Mississippi St. Bulldogs in this best of 3 series.

The Irish made it look easy in the South Bend Regional by winning their three games by a combined score of 50-5. Notre Dame’s defense has been one of the best in the nation, but at just the right time, the offensive explosion (especially from Niko Kavadas) is what set this team apart from the rest in the tournament regional.

The Bulldogs have some of the best pitching in baseball, and finished just one game behind the number one overall seed in the NCAA Tournament — the Arkansas Razorbacks. It’s going to be hot, humid, and loud. If the Irish are truly ready to take that next step back to the College World Series, it’s starts with game one against the Bulldogs.
