I sat down for an Off The Rails episode 24 hours after the playoff news surfaced.

The cat is out of the bag and the new college football playoff model that includes 12 teams is all but assured moving forward. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish will certainly be included in this new format, but for the first time, their access is not on the same level as the other blue blood programs.

So let’s talk about it. Let’s talk about what this is, and more importantly, what it isn’t. Basically... do you understand how tournament/playoff systems work?

This isn’t a hot take machine — and I’m not trying to sell you on one idea or another — but I am saying that I don’t buy some of the stuff that’s out there.
