The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are in the hunt for Tulsa Golden Hurricane transfer cornerback Kayleb Evans. On Sunday, the highly coveted defensive back announced his top five schools that he is considering — and Notre Dame made the cut along with the Missouri Tigers, Texas Longhorns, Texas Tech Red Raiders, and Jackson State.

The Irish offered Evans back on May 17, and quickly became a favorite for the Tulsa star. Missouri has a coach a coach that helped bring the 2-Star high school recruit from Texas, and the Texas schools — again, he’s from Texas. As far as Jackson State is concerned... yes, that is where all-time NFL great Deion Sanders is the head coach.

As of today, Notre Dame has not offered Evan’s teammate Allie Green who is also in the transfer portal. Evans and Green are two of five Tulsa defensive backs that are looking to leave.

I’ve yet to see any timeline for Evans, but the deadline for the NCAA is on July 1.
