Brian Kelly has repeatedly said that the Notre Dame Fighting Irish will continue to look at the transfer portal, and are open to new additions to the team — given that it’s a good fit. Well, it looks like they found a fit for former Tulsa Golden Hurricane cornerback, Akayleb Evans.

Evans was a 2-Star CB in high school according to the 247 Composite, and was part of the 2017 recruiting class for Tulsa. In his four years at Tulsa, he played in just 27 games (includes 7 as a freshman) and had 82 tackles, 11 passes defended, and 0 interceptions.
Despite his lack of eye-popping stats, Evans now holds a large offer list that keeps growing. His 6’2” 195 pound frame makes him a perfect candidate to come in and challenge Cam Hart for the starting job at the boundary cornerback position.
Here are Tulsa highlights of Notre Dame's recent grad-transfer target Akayleb Evans. Plenty of clips against Power 5 competition in Texas, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, etc. Evans is built like how Notre Dame wants a boundary corner to be built. https://t.co/JoYK2JA5Ea

Evans has two years of eligibility remaining, and if he does choose Notre Dame, it would almost certainly mean that a current cornerback on the roster could move to safety in the fall.
We will keep you updated on this, or any other transfer portal news, that may affect Notre Dame.
