Despite having the weekend off, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish baseball team is still winning. With losses from the Louisville Cardinals and Florida State Seminoles this weekend, Notre Dame, ranked as high as number 4 in the country, officially won the ACC Atlantic Division. This is the first division win for Notre Dame as a member of the ACC and their first regular season conference title since 2006, as a member of the Big East.

In winning the Atlantic Division, Notre Dame is guaranteed a top two seed in the ACC Tournament. They currently have the inside track to the top seed as they sit first in the conference overall, ahead of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Notre Dame leads the ACC this year in both conference wins, with 22, and conference series wins, with 9.

Earlier this weekend, Notre Dame was also named one of the 20 potential host sites for an NCAA Regional.

Out of the 20, 16 sites will be selected to host Regionals. The 16 selections will be announced on Sunday May 30. If Notre Dame were to be selected it would be the first time the Irish have been a regional host site since 2004. The Irish close out the regular season next weekend with a road series against the Virginia Tech Hokies.
