The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have a roster full of players, and we want to talk about them all. One Foot Down’s player profile series will, once again, take a look at every single one of them, and hopefully, we all learn a little bit more about these guys, and Notre Dame’s chances for the upcoming 2021 season.
#24 Jack Kiser, LB
Mr. Kiser came to the program as an early enrollee before the 2019 season, so he would be a junior next year but currently going into his second season of any potential playing time. He was recovering from an injury on a team already-stacked at linebacker. He played in a respectable 6 games last season in 2020. However, before he got injured and could not play against FSU, he had is most impactful game against USF. He had 8 tackles in that game, which happened to be his first ever collegiate game. There were many players out for the game, so he got the nod. In a truly awesome move, Kiser received the game ball for that game against USF for his stepping into a starting role at linebacker when other guys were hurt or could not play. Even with the rest of the season with modest stats, he still had that great moment in his first actual year.

The Restaurant That Fits
Jack’s Donuts

I mean, really, this fits too well. Jack Kiser is from Indiana, and Jack’s Donuts are an Indiana-based chain (also with pretty fire donuts, I might add). Match made in heaven.
2021 Outlook
Jack Kiser saw a bit of production when he was asked to step in last season when many guys were down for the count. He really impressed the coaching staff, team, and fans when he did so. He has a bright future, but he also has some studs ahead of him on the depth chart. There is Drew White, Shayne Simon, Isaiah Pryor, etc. that have more experience, But, Marcus Freeman might throw a some Jack Kiser in the mix to spread the wealth on the defense. Maybe Jack’s time is coming soon, or maybe it is here now. We shall see.
