NFL Draft: No Notre Dame players selected in the first round

Just seems silly to me to be that bad at drafting

The first round of the NFL Draft is on the books and after 32 selections, no Notre Dame player had their name called by Roger Goodell (or whatever person he brought to the stage).

It was a strange night that saw 5 quarterbacks drafted in the first 15 picks, 5 linebackers not named Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah selected overall, and 5 offensive linemen not named Liam Eichenberg were picked.

What world are we living in? Was there really a 2020 college football season, or was it something I just imagined?

Most of us had come to terms with Eichenberg slipping to the second round with one mock draft after another pencilling in him for a Friday pick — but Wu had a 97% chance of going in the first round and that, of course, did not happen.

It’s anyone’s guess at this moment where Wu or Eichenberg will land in the second round, but ESPN does have Wu as the best prospect available for Round 2 and Eichenberg at #7.

I’ll have more on what’s to come (or my best guess at wtf these NFL GM’s are thinking) later on Friday, but right now it feels like the disrespect is real. This isn’t a Notre Dame thing though, this is a “you can’t be serious that all of these guys are better than” thing.
