2021 National Signing Day: Notre Dame Fighting Irish Football Commitment and NLI Tracker

Just a couple of Brians in a van

One by one, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish added new members to its football family during the early signing period for the 2021 recruiting class. Rather than beat the site down with a profile piece after each of the recruits sent in their NLI, we simply offered this recruiting tracker for the day. And it’s back today to close out the 2021 cycle for the final National Signing Day.

OFD will offer plenty of other recruiting news and stories all day long as we fist pump our way to another really good class for the Irish.

Any new NLI’s will be registered here via a tweet, and marked off on the commitment list. Check back throughout the day to stay up to date. The recruit’s name’s are links to their past commitment posts here on OFD.

The one big name left (that we know about) is Louisiana running back Logan Diggs. The 3-Star prospect will have an announcement ceremony around 4:00 PM, and at this point we are still expecting Diggs to sign with the Irish over LSU — but that’s still many hours from now.

I will also keep this tracker pinned to the top of the site all day, and I encourage you to use the comment section much as you would for a live game thread. There should be plenty to talk about with the Irish — and all of the other programs across the country.

Brian Kelly and a handful of coaching staff members — including new defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman — will be available at 2:30 today for a Zoom press conference.

NATIONAL LETTER OF INTENT IS IN FOR...

Ryan Barnes CB

The first one out of the gate is one of the most underrated recruits in the cycle. Barnes will enroll early at Notre Dame this January.

Cane Berrong TE

The Irish continue to load up at tight end with this athletic pass-catcher from the Peach State. Cane will enroll early at Notre Dame in January.

Deion Colzie WR

Deion Colzie was the big fish that got away... and then we found it again by our uncle’s boat. Another huge grab out of Georgia.

Mitchell Evans TE

This... this is a big boy. Here’s a college tight end that just killed it at quarterback in the great state of Ohio. Evans will enroll early at Notre Dame in January.

Blake Fisher OT

We call him the mayor for the way he has personally helped recruit this class — but don’t forget that Fisher is a 5-Star player ready to keep the tradition strong along the ND offensive line. He will enroll early at Notre Dame in January.

Caleb Johnson OL

Notre Dame was in the flipping business this cycle, and they were able to get Johnson to sign with the Irish over Auburn. This Fort Wayne native will enroll early at Notre Dame in January.

Prince Kollie LB

After a real scare in the final days, the Irish did the job and Kollie sent in his NLI. Some of the best players Notre Dame has put on the field over the last 15 years have been from Tennessee — this is probably another one.

Jason Onye DE

Mike Elston has really been on fire with the way he has developed defensive ends in South Bend. Here comes the best player in the state of Rhode Island y’all! Jason will enroll early at Notre Dame in January.

Philip Riley CB

Notre Dame got an amazing cornerback and then lost him to USC... and then got him right back. Another tall cornerback is on order in South Bend. Riley will enroll early at Notre Dame in January.

Lorenzo Styles WR

Styles just isn’t one of the best athletes in the great state of Ohio (which is honor enough for most mortal men) he’s one of the best athletes in the country. Styles will enroll early at Notre Dame in January.

Jayden Thomas WR

The Irish went into Georgia AGAIN and added a solid WR to make it a trio for the cycle. His strength and steady play really completes the WR haul for the Irish.

Gabriel Rubio DT

The Irish went mountain climbing to find this son of Hawaii surfing in Missouri. Rubio is one of the best defensive line recruits of the Brian Kelly era and he will be enrolling early at Notre Dame in January.

Tyler Buchner QB

Everyone keeps saying that the one thing really holding Notre Dame back is the lack of an elite quarterback... so they drove out to California and got one. Buchner will get a start on the 2021 competition when he enrolls early in January at Notre Dame.

Chance Tucker CB

Tucker has the speed and athleticism to match other CB’s ranked much higher than him. The lack of a senior season likely held him back from 4-Star status. People should be much more excited about him than they’re showing.

Justin Walters S

Sometimes you just need an absolute banger back there at safety, and this Illinois native is just the thing we asked for. Walters will enroll early at Notre Dame in January.

Pat Coogan OL

The Irish dipped into Illinois to grab this offensive lineman that they liked better than Greg Crippen. He’s destined for guard or center with all that OL swoon.

Joe Alt OL

Are you in search of NFL bloodlines to rival that of the Merovingian dynasty? Turning massive tight ends into offensive tackles always feels like Christmas. Alt has as much upside as any player in this class.

Rocco Spindler OL

Notre Dame’s offensive line legacy of ass-kickers will be in good hands with Rocco Spindler. As one of the best guards in the country, Spindler plays with the edge we adore in South Bend. Rocco will enroll early at Notre Dame in January.

Will Schweitzer DE

The Irish add another pass-rushing piece to its defensive line with Schweitzer after a flip from Nebraska. He will enroll early at Notre Dame in January.

Joshua Bryan K

I’ll say this... COLLEGE KICKERS.

JoJo Johnson CB

The Irish had a long shopping list in the defensive back aisle, and JoJo quickly became a wonderful gift choice. The athletic DB from Indiana already has phenomenal nickname potential Jo CUBED.

Kahanu Kia

Notre Dame keeps its pipeline to the Hawaiian islands strong with another linebacker from the Punahou School. Notre Dame’s “hit rate” with the islander kids is damn near 100% and with the way Kia can play — that rate is in good hands.

Devin Aupiu DE

Here’s another recruit from California that should have seen their stock rise much high if they would have had a high school football season. It feels lowkey now... but it’s not. This is a great get for ND. Devin will enroll early at Notre Dame in January.

Ron Powlus QB

The newest addition to Notre Dame’s class has one of the most recognizable names in college football.

Khari Gee S

The Irish have become masters of the flip, and changed the mind of this former LSU Tigers commitment. Gee has the size and hometown stats to make people instantly do the Kyle Hamilton comparison. ATL BAYBEEE

Audric Estime RB

And another one... another flip. The hype for Estime has been increasing by the minute as Irish fans get to know him and his power running style.

Logan Diggs RB

While committed to Notre Dame since July, the late push by the LSU Tigers made things interesting. In the end, the Irish won out and got a tremendous running back to pair up with another one in this class.
