The Los Angeles Chargers have recently become known as “Notre Dame West” or “Los Angeles du Lac” in certain Notre Dame Fighting Irish fan circles. Over the last 5 or 6 years, the Chargers have consistently drafted or picked up UDFA’s from Notre Dame.

Recently, the Chargers had Isaac Rochell, Alohi Gilman, Jerry Tillery, and Drue Tranquill on their Roll Call show for a little fun. The conversation covered quite a bit including:

  • Why they chose Notre Dame.
  • Their most memorable moments — which of course consisted of a couple of close losses.
  • The rivalry with the USC Trojans.
  • Being “garbage” in 2016.
  • Alohi’s time with Navy and a menacing Quenton Nelson.
  • The impact of Clark Lea.
  • Drue Tranquill’s message from real Rudy, Sean Astin — AKA NOT Frodo — about watching the movie Rudy.

And quite a bit more. You can watch the entire episode in the player below.
