Notre Dame Fighting Irish VS Syracuse Orange: The Pregame

Do the thing

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are back in action today when they travel to New York to take on the Syracuse Orange. Notre Dame had some extended time off with the cancellation of the Clemson game due to COVID issues inside of the Tiger program, and they’ll need to knock the rust off in what has become a fairly important game.

Syracuse had the same thing happen to them with the cancellation of their game with the Louisville Cardinals — so at least we’re in the same boat.

Both Syracuse and Notre Dame are fighting for their NCAA Tournament lives, with the Orange looking a little better in that regard.

The Irish will have a strong test with a fantastic Orange front court of Quincy Guerrier and Alana Griffin. Both are averaging over 15 points per game. Guerrier is stronger inside the paint while Griffin is fairly dangerous from the outside. Both Juwan Durham and Nate Laszewski will have a battle today, and keeping free of foul trouble is extremely important.

As how many Notre Dame games go, however, it may still hinge on the performance of Prentiss Hubb today. Hubb runs hot and cold, and despite dishing out a ton of assists lately, he hasn’t been as effective shooting the ball.

The Irish basically need all of these games to make any solid argument for the NCAA — SO LFG!
