Welcome to another Bagpipe Monday Tuesday on One Foot Down. Friends, there’s no way of getting around it — Saturday sucked. While losing is never cool, losing in the regular season at home became super double uncool when it was done in the way the Irish lost to the Cincinnati Bearcats.

Regardless of how anyone feels about the loss, it was only game five. The Irish have seven games left, and there is still plenty to play for this year. No — the Irish don’t really have any shot for a playoff berth given the fairly weak schedule in front of them, but an 11-1 season with a NY6 bowl game is still very much in play.
No one can really predict what’s going to happen for the rest of the season. All over the country, this season has been as wild 2014 and almost as wild as 2007. Neither one of those years were kind to the Irish — but 2021 still could be. So far, I’ve seen bowl projections for the Peach Bowl, Cheeze-It Bowl, and Gator Bowl which suggest anything from 9-3 to 11-1.
But what do you think? These are all gut feelings right now, and I imagine that the game against the Virginia Tech Hokies will help tell the tale. But... will the Irish win out? Will Notre Dame end the regular season with an 11-1 record and on their way to a New Year’s 6 bowl game against Kentucky or a Cincinnati rematch or whoever?
Holler at us.

Will Notre Dame finish the season 11-1?
