Notre Dame Football: Quarterback Brendon Clark to enter transfer portal

According to a report by 247’s Tom Loy, Notre Dame Fighting Irish quarterback Brendon Clark is entering the transfer portal.

While “just” a 3-Star prospect coming out of Midlothian, Virginia, Clark was very highly thought of as a quarterback prospect by the Irish staff. Clark has been recovering from a serious leg injury that actually stems from his time in high school, and because the injury needed surgery — Notre Dame hit the transfer portal for Jack Coan in 2021. Without a doubt, I firmly believe that without the injury, the QB battle this offseason would have been between Clark, Drew Pyne, and Tyler Buchner... with Clark as the starter.

Clark was once committed to the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, and I fully expect him to end up at an ACC school. With that said, there aren’t any schools that are being tossed around as a landing spot.

As of right now; Tyler Buchner, Drew Pyne, and Ron Powlus III are expected to return to Notre Dame in 2022 with commitment Steve Angeli in that group as well. If you want a little more context, LSU Tigers 5-Star QB commit Walker Howard is taking an official visit to Notre Dame for this weekend’s game against the USC Trojans.
