Now that the bye week is behind us, it’s time to buckle in for the rest of the season. On Monday, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish released their depth chart for the USC Trojans, and once again, the actual changes aren’t entirely represented on the handout pdf.

Let’s get into it.

OFFENSE

#17 Jack Coan #22 Logan Diggs #4 Kevin Austin #21 Lorenzo Styles #0 Braden Lenzy #87 Michael Mayer #76 Joe Alt #73 Andrew Kristofic #55 Jarrett Patterson #62 Cain Madden #54 Blake Fisher
#10 Drew Pyne OR #25 Chris Tyree #16 Deion Colzie #29 Matt Salerno #83 Jayden Thomas #85 George Takacs #79 Tosh Baker #52 Zeke Correll #78 Pat Coogan #56 John Dirksen #77 Quinn Carroll
OR #12 Tyler Buchner - - - - #88 Mitchell Evans - #50 Rocco Spindler - - -

The offensive side of the ball has a number of different changes this week —even though they aren’t completely represented on Monday’s depth chart. Jack Coan remains the starter at quarterback, and that fact should surprise no one. With Joe Wilkins out for the year, Matt Salerno steps in as the slot receiver behind Avery Davis. According to Brian Kelly, Andrew Kristofic is the starter at left guard after replacing Zeke Correll during the Virginia Tech game. Quinn Carroll takes over as the backup to Josh Lugg at right tackle. Tight end Cane Berrong is likely out for the rest of the season, and with Joe Alt the starter at left tackle, Michael Carmody moves into that jumbo tight end role.

The defensive depth chart remains the same. The defense is fairly healthy, although I’m not entirely certain Jacob Lacey will be ready to go on Saturday. Lacey was out of practice on Monday and in a boot — so I guess we’ll get some clarity on Thursday.

The special teams depth chart stays put — and I have absolutely nothing more to add.
