Welcome to another Bagpipe Monday on One Foot Down! Friends, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish are 5-1 as they head into the bye week. If you haven’t been paying attention, the first half of the college football season has been a wild one. The race for the four spots available in the college football playoff are as open as they ever have been — but not for Notre Dame.
While there’s always a path to the playoff that we can draw up, the likelihood of such a path actually coming to fruition is damn near zero percent.
There is, however, still plenty to play for with six games remaining. An 11-1 regular season and a New Years Six bowl win (now almost 3 decades since the last one) would likely be a very satisfying end to the season — even without the playoffs.
But that kind of ending is still months away. How satisfied are you with Notre Dame’s season so far? I’m not going to try and nudge you in one direction or the other — and I will refrain from jokes since a lot of fans couldn’t handle the most obvious of sarcastic remarks from Saturday night. Plus — different people have different levels of satisfaction when it comes to these things.
Let us know.
What is your satisfaction level of ND Football this year? (1 being the least and 5 being the most)
Enjoy the pipes!
