Linebacker Jack Lamb announced Tuesday that he intends to transfer from Notre Dame after graduating this spring to continue his football career elsewhere.
“I am eternally grateful for those who allows me this opportunity and believed in me: Coach Kelly, Coach Lea, Coach Polian, Coach Lezynski, the strength staff, the academic support team and my professors,” wrote Lamb. “I’m forever indebted for your care and encouragement. I will truly miss the best teammates in the world. The bond I have created with all of you will never be broken. I pray that regardless of what lies in the future, our brotherhood will remain strong.”

Lamb appeared in all 12 games this season for the Irish in a backup capacity, registering 13 total tackles and two quarterback hurries. In his Notre Dame career, the former four-star prospect collected 20 total tackles, a sack, a forced fumble (and recovery) in 19 games.
Lamb had offers from 24 schools during the 2018 recruiting cycle, including USC, Iowa State, Oklahoma, Oregon and Vanderbilt. The Temecula, Calif. product is 6-foot-3 3⁄4 and weighs 230 pounds.
In other transfer news, offensive lineman Colin Grunhard is headed back to the Sunflower State. The graduate student will pursue his MBA at the University of Kansas, he said Tuesday.
“I think KU offers a lot of opportunities, both academically and athletically for me, especially because I want to end up working in Kansas City when I’m done with everything,” Grunhard told Jayhawk Slant. “I think the KU business school has a lot of good alumni connections in Kansas City. So, that was a major thing.”
