How’d we do last week?
As mentioned last week, I will feature the Most Interesting, Most Wildly Inaccurate, and Most Accurate Takes for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish from the previous week. Here we go!
Interesting

This. Was. Wonderful. Honestly though, this was very hard to pick. Shoutout Farshahl as well who coined the phrases “Frosted Takes” and “Corn Takes” last week. Plus there was an Exorcism Take...keep up the creativity everyone, it truly makes me smile.
Wildly Inaccurate

Hand up. This is on me. He pulled his hammy, but even before then was not much of a factor. Gotta go back to the board and try again this week.
Accurate

Nailed this one. 4 RBs had 2+ touches.
And now onto the takes between the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the South Florida Bulls
Cold Take
Defense has 5+ Sacks

Look for the ends and linebackers to wreak havoc all game. I am looking for Isaiah Foskey to build on his breakout performance and Daelin Hayes to make his presence felt. I also think we see some great blitzes from the 2nd and third level from Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, Shaun Crawford and company. Also a fun reminder the JOK is the REAL DEAL.
Micah Parsons is an elite talent...

But I think it’s fair to say that Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah is in the same conversation when it comes to elite LB talents for the 2021 NFL Draft.
He definitely showed that yesterday.

Hot Take
Freshman lead the team in touchdowns
Yesterday, Michael Mayer showed why he was ranked as a five-star TE coming out of high school.

Mini Gronk did amazing in his first career game with the Irish.

I think Michael Mayer, Chris Tyree, and either Jordan Johnson/Xavier Watts shine, particularly in the second half. It was clear there wasn’t enough juice out of the skill players (outside of Kyren Williams) against Duke. This game will be a blowout and Brian Kelly will want to get these guys touches. I see this as a necessity as these types of guys need to get going if Notre Dame wants to compete in November. Outside of Freshman I have to shout out my guy Braden Lenzy, who I am very very excited to see back on the field.
