Once the Notre Dame Fighting Irish put the ACC logo on the field inside Notre Dame Stadium, you should have known that there would be MORE ACC all over the Notre Dame Football program — including the uniforms.

On Thursday, Ian Book posted a picture of his jersey on his Instagram story, and there are a number of things going on here.

  • The ACC logo patch will be on the front of the jersey opposite the side where the Under Armour patch resides.
  • “RALLY” is definitely the catch word and mantra for the Notre Dame football program this year, so of course they put it on a patch and sew it on the uniform.

At first glance the whole thing is a little jarring considering I’m 42 years old and have seen what Notre Dame football uniforms have looked like during that time. I mean — it’s a lot. Still, I think once actual football is being played, the less these changes will stand out. There are only 5 Irish captains this year, so most of the roster will be without a giant “C” on their chest.

Thoughts?
