Miami Dolphins Foundation Food Relief Program

I love it when I see the Notre Dame Value Stream flowing through Our Lady’s former football players and back into their communities in the form of good works. This week I happened to see yet another shining example of one of my Notre Dame brothers giving back. Former Notre Dame Fighting Irish football player Shawn Wooden shared the following via his social media channels.

Last Wednesday (8/19), the Miami Dolphins reached giving out 100,000 meals to our South Florida community through the Miami Dolphins Foundation Food Relief program. I enjoyed spending some time with my fellow alumni in supporting this amazing relief effort for our community. Another example of sports uniting our communities. If you want to find out more or support this yearlong effort, please visit the Miami Dolphins Foundation Food Relief Program.

Here’s a little more information about the program.

Our Mission:

The Miami Dolphins organization is committed to combating food insecurity and providing employment opportunities as the primary step in rebuilding our communities from the COVID-19 pandemic. Through the Miami Dolphins Foundation Food Relief Program, Miami Dolphins Owner Stephen Ross and the Miami Dolphins organization have committed $2 million to fund a minimum of 1,000 meals each weekday for up to one year to assist those in need of hunger relief and with food insecurities.

Each gift will be matched dollar for dollar and all donations of $50 or more, will receive a special Miami Dolphins gift from Stephen Ross and Vice Chairman and CEO Tom Garfinkel in appreciation of their participation in this matching campaign.
