Post 4th of July hours in the office are the worst kind of hours — but I’m here for you and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
ONWARD TO THE TRIPLE OPTION!
SPRING FLING
There is a lot of concern around the country as far as the college football season is concerned (far down the list compared to the real world concerns). With coronavirus numbers increasing and the effects of a holiday weekend spike still ahead of us — some talk has reverted back to what many were discussing in May. Perhaps college football should move the 2020 season to a 2021 spring season. ND Insider’s Eric Hansen talks about how that is a great idea — but as a Plan B.
I get irrationally mad when I think about the fact that ND is finally getting a top 5 team from the south in South Bend in the month of November — and that it could be in April instead.

FOX AND FRIENDS
FOX Sports decided to light up social media by asking “who is the best coach in college football right now?”. They included James Franklin in their picture montage — a guy that has won jack and shit with the Penn State Nittany Lions and hasn’t even been to the college football playoff. (For the record, the picture should have been just Dabo and Saban). It’s like FOX has a piece of the Big 10 pie and the Big 10 Network so of course a company named “FOX” will just swing their giant bias bat however they like.

They then put out this gem:
@NDFootball’s Brian Kelly is the only two-time winner in the last 10 years

FACE MASK
Helmets in the age of COVID-19. It’s a thing, and this isn’t the first version that I’ve seen this week. It will be interesting to see if the Irish go this route.
Whenever football returns, it's going to look different. One of the most important changes will be inside helmets.

A RIVAL TWEET
Since we are in week 2 of rivalry week on SBN (like in a Doctor Strange kind of way) I leave you with this — the madness of the 2013 win over the Michigan State Spartans.
Somehow I missed this one. https://t.co/ZpIYAkWsGb pic.twitter.com/EKK0dY2jk4
