So there’s still a weird vibe surrounding the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the college football season, and that’s not going away anytime soon — despite how much we wish it would.
ON TO THE TRIPLE OPTION!
TAKING ANOTHER ROUTE
Former Notre Dame wide receiver Kevin Stepherson has put his name in the transfer portal. Stepherson landed at Jacksonville State after being dismissed from the Notre Dame football program and other slight run ins with the law. There is no denying that KJ is an incredible football player, and if he really has turned things around in his personal life, this is likely a move to help boost his profile and his NFL Draft stock. SO GOOD FOR HIM!
Interesting name back on the move; 2016 3-star WR Kevin Stepherson totaled 821 yds and 10 TD on 44 rec in 2 seasons before being dismissed by #ND; he then had 36 rec for 479 yds and 6 TD in 2019 at Jacksonville State @rivalsmike @RivalsWoody https://t.co/okrjMQf8GJ— NCAA Transfer Portal (@RivalsPortal) July 14, 2020
TAKING ANOTHER DAY
We may not have a 2020 season in the fall, but that doesn’t mean plans for fall of 2021 should be ignored. Notre Dame and the Florida State Seminoles were scheduled to play on Labor Day (Monday) and have now been moved to Sunday — like the Louisville game in 2019. This is a fantastic move for my own personal schedule, and I care little for yours.
TAKING IN ANOTHER WATCH LIST
On Tuesday, Ian Book was named to the Davey O’Brien Award watch list.
TAKING IN MORE INFORMATION ABOUT 2020
Eric Hansen talked with Notre Dame Athletic Director Jack Swarbrick about the chances for the 2020 football season.
