The Triple Option: Peach Bowl prediction for Notre Dame is a bit fuzzy

Welcome back to another day on natural grass as we run the triple option. Real news about the Notre Dame Fighting Irish has been fairly light, and I’m doing my best to not just reword the same article that multiple others are doing.

It’s a fun exercise though.

THE PEACH BOWL?

247 published the preseason bowl predictions and have Notre Dame taking on the Georgia Bulldogs in the Peach Bowl. The Irish were also a trendy Peach Bowl pick in 2018 and was a possibility in 2017 before the Stanford fiasco, so maybe this is our new/same-old thing — pick the non playoff New Year’s 6. Notre Dame has never played in the Peach Bowl, so sure — why not?

ARIZONA STATE SETS A NEW PRECEDENT

And this has nothing to do with their incredible house party legacy. Michael Turk, the punter for the Arizona State Sun Devils, has been granted a waiver by the NCAA to return to school after not being drafted in the 2020 NFL Draft. It’s the first time this has ever happened, and it’s even more incredible because Turk hired an agent — AND HE’S A PUNTER. If you remember, Turk impressed a lot of people at the NFL Combine when he threw up 25 reps, but obviously not enough to get drafted. Turk is blaming the coronavirus pandemic, and the NCAA is buying.

HE’S SO DAMN GOOD

Quenton Nelson was named the #4 player in the NFL by Pro Football Focus. What we’re seeing is the continued rise of the greatest offensive lineman in Notre Dame history — and one that SHOULD be on lists for Top 5 All-Time at Notre Dame. The Colts have a great one, and I continue to Stan all of this.

HOW DO YOU COME BACK FROM THIS?

Mike Norvell, the new coach for the Florida State Seminoles, is in hot water right now with his team. Why? Well, according to team captain Marvin Wilson, Norvell lied about talking to ALL of the guys on the roster individually about what’s going on throughout the country.
