Thanks to a suggestion in our yearly survey about what we do here at One Foot Down, I making the daily link dump about the Notre Dame Fighting Irish a priority again — at least for Monday through Friday. “The Triple Option” is a working title for now. I want to keep this to 4 stories a day, and pre-snap there are actually 4 options in the triple-option.
Like I said... it’s a working title. So let’s get into it.
THE NCAA MAKES A MOVE
As the country starts to open back up amid the coronavirus pandemic, sports fans were left wondering when their favorite sports would begin again — and how. On Wednesday, the NCAA voted to allow voluntary activities for Division 1 football and basketball.
Story on @YahooSports sources telling us that that NCAA approved voluntary activities for football, basketball starting June 1. What does it mean? What will testing look like? https://t.co/whQ20ThKv7

BRIAN KELLY MAKES A TOP 5 LIST
Over the course of the past 6 months, much has been made about Brian Kelly’s comments pertaining to recruiting top five classes. Along the way, he has took a great deal of criticism from fans and detractors — and yet here he is ranked inside a national outlet’s top five list.

SO YOU’RE SAYING THERE’S A CHANCE
Pro Football Focus released their “Too-Early Top 25 College Football Rankings,” and the Irish are kind of sitting pretty — and man that game against the Clemson Tigers is looking bigger and bigger (along with the Wisconsin Badgers of course). The USC Trojans are the only other Irish opponent besides the Badgers and Tigers that are ranked by PFF.

BIG RECRUITING NEWS
The 247 Crystal Ball was on fire today for Notre Dame and 3-Star cornerback Ryan Barnes. The 6’2” 180 pounder from Maryland is a highly coveted prospect that holds offers from the Michigan Wolverines, Tennessee Volunteers, Penn State Nittany Lions, Oklahoma Sooners, and many more. A decision could be coming soon for Barnes.
