I’m sure a few of you guessed the Game Watch this week with those awesome swatches — and you’re right — it’s the Notre Dame Fighting Irish vs the Washington Huskies from 2009.

I can’t stop thinking about that 2009 season, and Jimmy Clausen’s incredible performance along with Bilitnikoff Award winner, Golden Tate. So... we’re doing this.

The Irish just beat the Purdue Boilermakers on the road the week before, and Jimmy Clausen is still really banged up with a bad turf toe. Michael Floyd is still out with a broken collarbone, and the defense just seems to get lost at times. Notre Dame’s only loss up to this point was against the Michigan Wolverines in Ann Arbor — although that loss was really due to the officials absolutely screwing Notre Dame over.

The Huskies upset the #3 USC Trojans the week before and Jake Locker was starting to get the overhype train rolling down the track.
