When the Notre Dame Fighting Irish lost to the Wake Forest Demon Deacons the other day, it put a big cork in the excitement for this matchup against the Florida State Seminoles. STAFF PICKS
We are trying something new on OFD for basketball and football games with “staff picks.” This handy widget will keep tabs on the picks for the current game and more (records, explanations, and other such things).
THE QUICK THOUGHT
This was the game that everyone pointed to. Hell — it was the loss we all pointed to as well. The Irish lost to the Noles in Tallahassee by the grace of zebras, but it showed what this Notre Dame basketball team could do against a top tier team. While the road to an NCAA berth is really rocky, just getting a win here will feel like a massive thing. John Mooney (AKA John Mutton), T.J. Gibbs, Prentiss Hubb, and the rest of the bunch absolutely have to show up and win to give themselves confidence for that ACC Tourney on the horizon.
