Welcome to another Bagpipe Monday on One Foot Down. Friends, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish are in a position that 126 programs across the country wish they were in — and yet the rhetoric from the media and from within its own fanbase make it seem like this is more like the 2015 team or 2005 team or [insert most Irish seasons over the past 25 years].
It’s kind of ridiculous.

Quite frankly, the talking heads and national writers are going to talk their shit because that’s what they do. Whether it’s Desmond Howard or Kirk Herbstreit or Stewert Mandel — or even fucking Dan Rubenstein... I really don’t care. Don’t get me wrong though — getting worked up over some negative remarks is part of the fun of college football, and I’m definitely here for it — but I don’t sway my feelings or thoughts one way or the other because of those remarks.
So this question needs to be put in a certain type of vacuum that’s devoid of those outside voices... would you consider this season to be any type of success if the Irish lose to the Alabama Crimson Tide in the Rose Bowl?
I’m not going to lay out a case for any answer, because I’m generally just curious to know what you think. I’m not even going to put in any type of variables. Please drop in your vote, and then head to the comment section and tell us why.

Will you still consider the 2020 ND Football season a success if they lose to Alabama?
