Before ESPN’s College Gameday was over on Saturday from Michie Stadium for the Army-Navy Game, the next destination was already announced.
Gameday will be heading to Charlotte next week for the ACC Championship between the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Clemson Tigers.
NOT JUST ANOTHER GAME!

Round 2: @ClemsonFB vs. @NDFootball for the ACC title

When the Irish and Tigers last played on November 7 in South Bend, College Gameday was there in full force — but placed inside Notre Dame Stadium rather than outside the gates with Touchdown Jesus in the background. Obviously the Coronavirus pandemic had a significant impact on the coverage — just as it has for every team this year.
This will be ROUND 2 for Notre Dame and Clemson. The Irish won that November meeting 47-40 in double overtime when Clemson was ranked #1 in the country.
This game next weekend will have a huge impact on the college football playoff rankings as Notre Dame and Clemson are ranked #2 and #3 respectively. While Clemson needs the win more than Notre Dame in terms of making the playoff — it’s always best to make the decision for the committee for them.
