Notre Dame Football Recruiting: 4-Star OL Ty Chan commits to the Irish

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish stay smoking hot on the recruiting trail with the commitment of 2022 4-Star offensive lineman, Ty Chan. The 6’6” 275 pounder from Lawrence Academy in Groton, Massachusetts, chose the Irish over offers from the Boston College Eagles, Michigan Wolverines, and others.

Chan is one of the top offensive line prospects in the country. According to Rivals he is ranked overall at #189 and 247 has him at #182 overall.

BGI talked with Chan’s HS coach, Jason Swepson. He believes Chan is the perfect player to mold:

“He has all of the intangibles — the height, size, agility and the best thing about him is that he’s a piece of clay. He’s not one of these guys who has been to a bunch of camps where these ‘O-line gurus’ give you techniques.”

“That’s why a lot of college coaches love him; they know they can shape him into their system with no bad habits.”

Chan is the 4th Irish commitment for the 2022 recruiting class — which is off to a fantastic start.
