The Notre Dame Fighting Irish took out the Clemson Tigers 47-40 in double overtime. It’s an instant classic kind of game. It was #4 home underdog versus #1 and was just an incredibly wild and fun ride.
Mostly fun because the Irish won.
Obviously Notre Dame has been involved in some great games in the Brian Kelly era, but games of this magnitude usually end in a loss — but not on Saturday night. Ian Book wouldn’t allow it, and while down a score and 91 yards away — he engineered the tying touchdown to send it to the first overtime.
Brian Kelly and the program needed this win, and it was delivered with a beautiful GREEN glow.
Here’s all the postgame goodies:
It was an incredible game and we will have much more about the win and the future on OFD.
