The Notre Dame Fighting Irish remain the #2 team in the country in both the AP Top 25 and Coaches Poll for the 4th week in a row. Notre Dame took down the North Carolina Tar Heels in impressive fashion, 31-17. It was a fantastic performance, but it wasn’t enough to take over the top spot from the Alabama Crimson Tide. The Irish remain a SOLID #2.

The real question that remains is how the College Football Playoff handles all of this — especially the Ohio State Buckeyes. There’s no real reason right now for anything drastic to happen, but at some point there may be cause for the committee to drop the Bucks out of the top 4.
We can get into all of that in the next week or so as we need to see how these things play out on the field (or in a covid-19 testing lab).
This week, the Irish take on the Syracuse Orange in what will be their final game in South Bend this season.
