I’m continually blown away this week with so many hot takes concerning the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the North Carolina Tar Heels (and that’s not including our hot take thread from Philip). Media members have been tripping over themselves to make this game their “upset special” of the week... Just like Boston College was last week.
So, whatever.
As talented as the Tar Heel offense is, they haven’t played any defense near as good as the one Notre Dame rolls out on the field. Expecting the Heels to put up points on Notre Dame like the Irish were the Demon Deacons is just a dumb thought — stop thinking it. On the flipside, North Carolina’s defense does everything they can to allow as many points as their defense scores.
It’s not going to be easy — but it doesn’t have to be close either.
As this suggests — and contrary to national writers who have the Irish on “upset special” — it doesn’t have to be close. #NDFB https://t.co/aJn72ZL15a
