Notre Dame Football: Staff Picks for This Weekend’s BC, ACC Games

New, comments

We’re all expecting Notre Dame to continue their undefeated season Saturday.

The conventional wisdom is that the Notre Dame Fighting Irish will prevail over an inferior Boston College Eagles team this Saturday in Chestnut Hill. The One Foot Down staff thinks the Irish will collect their eighth win — and you should too.

The secondary question is: What carryover effect does last week’s double overtime win against the Clemson Tigers have on this weekend’s game? Will the Irish be physically and emotionally worn from beating the No. 1 team in an instant classic? The spread for Saturday’s game is 13 12 points, which means you’ve got to give your adversary (or Vegas) that many points if you want to take the Irish. Will Phil Jurkovec and Zay Flowers cause an Irish fan heart attack or will Kyren Williams, Kyle Hamilton and Ian Book keep the pedal to the metal? With No. 1 Alabama, No. 3 Ohio State, No. 4 Clemson and No. 5 Texas A&M off this week, many national eyes will be on the Irish.

Because Notre Dame is doing the FULL ACC thing this season, we are going to go all in as well. We are picking ALL the ACC games every week. The tabs hold all the picks — straight up, against the spread, and the over/under.
