#2 Notre Dame Fighting Irish 7-0 (6-0) VS Boston College Eagles 5-3 (4-3)
So now that the Irish have the Clemson game out of the way, we can all take a deep breath and move forward with this ACC schedule. Next up (obviously) are those fighting Jesuits at BC.
There are two built-in storylines here for fans and writers to dive into:
- Believing witchcraft is real and that the loss to BC in 1993 after beating #1 Florida State actually means something in a game 27 years later.
- Phil Jurkovec going head-to-head against Ian Book (and more importantly Kyle Hamilton).
The first one is absolute horse crap, but the second one is extremely intriguing. It was just a few weeks ago that there were a large number of ND fans that were whining about having Book behind center and NOT Phil. To his credit, Jurkovec has had a really nice season so far in Chesnut Hill — but he didn’t just beat the #1 team in the country so let’s get real here.
As much as I do think there’s a a solid amount of bad blood, Phil remains close with the recruiting class that he came to ND with in 2018, and did what he thought was best for him — which is all anyone can really do in this world (especially at QB).
Jurkovec, who leads the ACC in passing yards (2,083), spent most of his call praising Notre Dame for the people he met and lessons he learned there, saying he regularly texts with most of his recruiting class.
