2020 Notre Dame Football: Boston College Eagles Week

#2 Notre Dame Fighting Irish 7-0 (6-0) VS Boston College Eagles 5-3 (4-3)

So now that the Irish have the Clemson game out of the way, we can all take a deep breath and move forward with this ACC schedule. Next up (obviously) are those fighting Jesuits at BC.

There are two built-in storylines here for fans and writers to dive into:

• Believing witchcraft is real and that the loss to BC in 1993 after beating #1 Florida State actually means something in a game 27 years later.
• Phil Jurkovec going head-to-head against Ian Book (and more importantly Kyle Hamilton).

The first one is absolute horse crap, but the second one is extremely intriguing. It was just a few weeks ago that there were a large number of ND fans that were whining about having Book behind center and NOT Phil. To his credit, Jurkovec has had a really nice season so far in Chesnut Hill — but he didn’t just beat the #1 team in the country so let’s get real here.

As much as I do think there’s a a solid amount of bad blood, Phil remains close with the recruiting class that he came to ND with in 2018, and did what he thought was best for him — which is all anyone can really do in this world (especially at QB).
