Notre Dame Football: COVID-19 testing update for Pittsburgh week

Not as good as last week

On Monday, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish announced the results for their COVID-19 testing as they prepare for their next ACC opponent, the Pittsburgh Panthers.

One player has tested positive for COVID-19 and will go into isolation, while there is one other player that will now be quarantined because he had close contact.

Of course no names have been released — or will they be released. At this time, I’m not sure when we will find out which players they are, and maybe it won’t be until Saturday. If it’s a high profile starter, I imagine news will leak out around campus, but don’t expect to see it reported by media outlets.

Notre Dame had ZERO last week, so the increase is “more” but after what they fought back from in September with their internal outbreak, this certainly feels like something that they can overcome.

The Irish are on the road for the first time this season, and will play Pitt at 3:30 on ABC.
