NOT THE BEES
On Saturday afternoon, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish take on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. This will be the second time that the Irish and the Yellow Jackets tip off against one another this season. GT is one of the few ACC teams each year that the Irish always play twice. A few weeks ago, the Irish went into Atlanta and hung on to win a road conference game.
The Irish had a bit of a setback in conference play since that game, losing a few times to drop to 2-6 in ACC play. But, on Wednesday night, the Irish played a little worse team in Wake Forest to get their first conference home win. The Irish were down at halftime but took a lead early in the half. They held onto that lead to win 90-80.
The Irish play their second game against Josh Pastner’s Georgia Tech team. This game should be close. No matter what year it is or how good either team is, the Irish always seem to be in a dogfight against Georgia Tech. All of these times playing Georgia Tech has made me realize how much Josh Pastner looks like Fred Savage.
On Saturday, I’ll try to get Josh to tell me how his time was on The Wonder Years.
Players to Watch
-Michael Devoe: This guy has been very good. When the Irish played GT last, Devoe had 22 points. Their whole team never really has any flash, but they play hard.
-John Mooney: I mean of course. He got yet another double-double against Wake Forest. He now has 16 double-doubles on the season after getting a program-record 12 straight this season. He broke that streak last week when the Irish played FSU. Mutton is just a dominant player.
-T.J. Gibbs: Temple went relatively quiet for a bit, but he quickly picked it back up against Wake Forest. He just sneakily dropped 23 points on Wednesday night, hitting some long range shots. Prentiss Hubb only had 5 points, so it was good for Gibbs to pick up that much needed slack. Hopefully both can be hot on Saturday.
How to Watch
