The Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the University of Wisconsin-Madison Badgers took to Compton Family Ice Arena Friday in one chaotic game. There were ten goals in all, but Irish fans will have to wait a little longer to see another Notre Dame victory.
First Period
Irish fans saw their guys take control as Michael Graham scored the first point of the game and Mike O’Leary claimed another goal barely even two minutes later. The Badgers ended the period with a goal from Cole Caulfield, but the Irish headed into the second period with the lead.

Second Period
The Badgers responded right away in the second with a tying goal from Cole Caulfield. However, Notre Dame’s Colin Theisen brought it to 3-2 Irish. A game misconduct for facemasking by Notre Dame’s Charlie Raith was the game’s turning point as the shakeup left room for Wisconsin’s Ty Pelton-Byce tie it up and then for Cole Caulfield to lock in a hat trick to bring it to 4-3 Wisconsin.

Third Period
Wisconsin’s Max Zimmer gave the Irish another slap to the face with the Badgers’ fifth goal. Cal Burke responded by breaking his goal drought to make it a one goal game. However, Wisconsin captain Wyatt Kalynuk locked it in with an empty netter to end it 6-4 Badgers.
Tons of pressure from the Irish as we look for the game-tying goal.
