Notre Dame Football Recruiting: Irish signee Landen Bartleson arrested in Kentucky for allegedly stealing guns

This isn’t good.

A local television station in Kentucky is reporting that Notre Dame Fighting Irish commit Landen Bartleson has been arrested. The cornerback that signed early with the Irish in December is accused of breaking into a gun store in Danville along with two others and stole nine guns — and possibly a vehicle.

Police say the suspects smashed a window and stole multiple weapons.

During the investigation, officers were able to identify three suspects, two 16-year-old juveniles and 18-year-old Landon Bartleson, of Harrodsburg, and take them into custody.

Police say they were also investigating a vehicle theft that happened overnight on Centre College’s campus. We’re told the trio was also linked to the vehicle theft.

The vehicle was later recovered on Alum Springs Crosspike and police say all 9 stolen guns from the burglary were found.

During the recruiting process it was never 100% clear if Bartleson would be able to early enroll with the Irish despite reports saying that he wanted to, and eventually he stayed in high school for his final semester.

Obviously this can have a huge impact with Bartleson’s standing with Notre Dame. Although this is just early speculation, if he is found guilty, I doubt he will ever attend Notre Dame.
