With the conclusion of the season after the LSU Tigers claimed the national championship, the final USA Today Coaches Poll of the 2019-2020 season was released on Tuesday afternoon. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish were ranked #11.

  1. LSU Tigers 15-0

2. Clemson Tigers 14-1

3. Ohio State Buckeyes 13-1

4. Georgia Bulldogs 12-2

5. Oregon Ducks 12-2

6. Oklahoma Sooners 12-2

7. Florida Gators 11-2

8. Alabama Crimson Tide 11-2

9. Penn State Nittany Lions 11-2

10. Minnesota Golden Gophers 11-2

11. Notre Dame Fighting Irish 11-2

12. Baylor Bears 11-3

13. Wisconsin Badgers 10-4

14. Auburn TIgers 9-4

15. Iowa Hawkeyes 10-3

16. Utah Utes 11-3

17. Memphis Tigers 12-2

18. Appalachian State Mountaineers 13-1

19. Michigan Wolverines 9-4

20. Navy Midshipmen 11-2

21. Cincinnati Bearcats 11-3

22. Boise State Broncos 12-2

23. Air Force Falcons 11-2

24. UCF Knights 10-3

25. Virginia Cavaliers 9-5

Notre Dame’s victory over Iowa State clearly impressed some of the coaches, as the Irish rose three spots from the previous poll. The Irish weren’t as fortunate in the AP Poll, where they were #12. Clearly, coaches have the better judgment in this case.

Notre Dame’s 2020 campaign begins on August 29th against Navy in Dublin, Ireland.
