The Notre Dame Fighting Irish let a golden opportunity slip away Wednesday in a loss to North Carolina State. Notre Dame had just beat the Syracuse Orange on the road, and had dominated most of the game in Raleigh. A win would have put them at 2-2 and with a ton of momentum for today’s return home against the #13 ranked Louisville Cardinals. It’s the kind of momentum needed to pull off an upset on your home court.
But it’s not there.
Instead, the Irish have to dig down deep and generate that momentum and solid play out of desperation. If the Irish have any hope at all of playing in the postseason, they need a win like this. Fatigue looked like it became a huge factor late against the Wolfpack, and that’s something that will get them murdered by the Cardinals.

The Irish need a big game from both John Mooney and Prentiss Hubb, and hopefully a return for Rex Pflueger to help out with the rotation and help keep them a little fresher.
