The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have a roster full of players, and we want to talk about them all. One Foot Down’s player profile series will take a look at every single one of them, and hopefully we all learn a little bit more about these guys, and Notre Dame’s chances for the upcoming 2019 season.
Litchfield Ajavon, DB
This 4 star safety comes to South Bend from Episcopal High School in Alexandria, VA. Ajavon claimed 62 tackles his senior season and made the 247 rankings as the no. 19 safety in the country.
Taylor Swift, Bon Jovi or Chicago
Going with T Swift for this Ajavon. This defensive back is fearless when it comes to making the hits he needs to bring his team ahead.
Hey, Dog, HEY!
This freshman pup is a greyhound, without a doubt. At 6”1’ and 185 lbs., Ajavon has a somewhat lean frame for a defensive player. However, just as the greyhound is fast and driven, Ajavon is not afraid to chase after the opponent.

2019 Outlook
Working on coverage will be Ajavon’s top priority as he heads into the season. However, he has proven his agility, aggression and speed. Fighting Irish defensive coordinator Clark Lea recognizes the significant progress Ajavon must make, but has confidence in him. Lea said Irish fans should “...not expect to see much of Ajavon on defense in 2019, though his playing style screams special teams ace.”
