Notre Dame Football: Freshman OL Quinn Carroll out for the season with knee injury

Tough break for the big freshman.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are well underway with their fall camp down in Culver, and according to Irish Sports Daily, there was a big injury on Wednesday. Freshman offensive lineman, Quinn Carroll is expected to miss all of 2019 now with a knee injury.

While most freshman lineman should almost always expect to be redshirted, the new 4 game rule from the NCAA allows a player to play in 4 games while keeping a year of eligibility. Carroll was a candidate to do that, but perhaps in an even larger role to help with his development at the collegiate level.

It’s a tough break for a kid just a few days into his freshman year, and we wish the best for his recovery.
